Objectives. As "Collection Officer" you manage all activities related to the collection procedure finding the most suitable solutions for settleing outstanding claims. You are responsible for maximising the recovery of arrears by resolving debts quickly and efficiently within company guidelines and processes, primarily prior to the termination of contracts for non-payment. In your daily business you contact customers by phone, mail or letter and inform them of their debst, you collect payments and agree payment plans. Furthermore, you liaise with relevant third parties i.e. Insolvency companies and debt collection agencies, when required. You also work closely with the sales department to identify customer issues and avoid problems escalating. where possible. Performing your role requires to communicate in a very sensitive way, paying attention to details and being well organized in order to deal with delicate requests and deadlines. Responsibilities. Maintaining and monitoring customer and contract data in our IT systems, such as internal contract. codes regarding the payment status of a contract, recording reasons for non-payment. Contacting customers to inform them of their overdue payments, advise them about their payment. options, negotiate suitable payment plans, agree new payment dates. Responding promptly and professionally to any correspondence relating to payment arrears. Taking payments. Collaborating with Sales Branches, sending alerts to enable them to assist the collections team, if. particular problem cases are identified. Flagging any high risk cases and complaints to the Collection Manager for escalation. Providing the necessary copies of documentation or replacement direct debit mandates to customers. Liaising with insolvency companies and novating contracts wherever possible. Providing proof of debt forms to allow any dividend prospect. Referring relevant cases to debt collection agencies. According to the Country education and culture minimum requirement should be Training as a. paralegal / Commercial training with focus on Receivables Management, Degree in Economic/ Management/ Law or Minimum of 5 GCSE qualifications (Level 4+).
