We are now moving to the next stage of recruitment. UCC Futures - Future Pharmaceuticals is embedded in the heart of Ireland’s globally significant pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical landscape. UCC Futures – Future Pharmaceuticals is driving enhanced interdisciplinary collaboration among world leading scientists and engineers and building on established industry partnerships. Modern medicines are increasingly based on complex pharmaceuticals and advanced therapeutics. These new emerging treatments and therapies increase the complexity of component materials and processes. UCC Futures - Future Pharmaceuticals is advancing knowledge which underpins discovery, development and manufacturing, from small molecules to biopharmaceuticals. Transcending traditional discipline boundaries is critical to ensure effective and advanced collaboration, development and production of new medicines at scale that ensure availability, affordability, efficacy and safety through a patient-centric approach. UCC Futures - Future Pharmaceuticals leverages extensive infrastructure between our key Schools and research institutes including APC Microbiome Ireland and our flagship Tyndall National Institute. Our existing collaborations with strategic national partners including NIBRT, the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training and SSPC, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Pharmaceuticals, strengthens our industry engagement through collaborative research projects and participation in research-led teaching. Applications are currently sought for 7 academic positions that support the ambitions of UCC Futures – Future Pharmaceuticals. The appointment of researchers of excellence, from Lecturer to Professor, will connect disciplines and research strengths across the University, mapping to existing research strengths across our four Colleges and flagship Tyndall National Institute. Applications are particularly welcome from those with a disruptive and transformative research focus for one or more of the following positions ( www.ucc.ie/futures ) • Professor (Scale 2) in Biochemistry and Cell Biology (2 positions) *Joint appointment NIBRT Principal Investigator under UCC-NIBRT partnership agreement. • Professor / Chair of Analytical Chemistry • CAMS Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry • Lecturer in Radical Pharma or Green Chemistry • Lecturer in Pharmaceutical (or Biopharmaceutical) Processing • Lecturer in Strategy and International Business • Lecturer in Advanced Cell and Gene Therapy (Coming soon. Applicants are expected to have a record of leadership and academic potential, with a portfolio of significant research accomplishments, collaborative engagements, and tangible translation to substantive impact. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The successful applicant will be supported in embedding and enhancing their research activities, with a particular focus on the acquisition of funding through the European Research Council programme.
