Senior Buyer/Planner required by CareerWise Recruitment for our multinational metal processing client in Shannon. Permanent position. This role requires strategic and operational procurement expertise, MRP/ERP literacy, an understanding of material management methodology. THE ROLE: * Supplier management - drive suppliers against operational metrics, negotiate and improve relationships. * MRP/ERP - interrogate MRP data - set buffer/safety stock levels and optimize inventory levels. * Production Planning - work closely with warehouse management to understand shortages/material needs. * Develop and drive improved performance from material control and finance colleagues. * Stakeholder engagement - liaise with engineering on supplier quality, sales on forecasting and general ERP. * Receiving and verify material requisitions from requestors & generate purchase orders accordingly. Review material requirements for S&OP and highlight potential issues against the plan and manufacturing schedule. * Ensure orders are received from suppliers and processed in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with the Heraeus Precious Metals procurement policy. * Create & release production orders to the production team in a timely manner. * Perform inventory and PO reconciliation activities scheduling and planning functions to ensure backorders are non-existent. * Utilize MRP systems to achieve execution of production plan & product availability. * Procure materials as required to support the organization. Drive and schedule critical material orders. Manage toll manufacturers suppliers ensure best quality/service. * Review and approve supplier change requests as well as HMPL initiated change requests. * Involvement in cost down & inventory reduction activities. * Escalate potential supplier manufacturing and compliance issues to provide & obtain direction and decision making around continued production, supply. * Receiving purchase requisitions from requestors & generating purchase orders accordingly. Filing & maintaining purchase requisitions, purchase orders & purchasing records. * Develop of queries & models to establish and support key business metrics & reports. * Development of processes & SOP documentation. * Will abide to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Policies and any relevant other EHS documentation. * Will comply with all relevant training required and adhere to relevant associated documentation. * Actively contribute to the enhancement of compliance initiatives for areas of responsibility. THE REQUIREMENTS: * Five+ years manufacturing experience in a Chemical/Pharmaceutical Supply Chain environment (purchasing/ planning/inventory control. * Working knowledge of MPS & MRP. * Working knowledge of Quality Systems (FDA/ISO) within a regulated environment. * Good communicator and inter personnel skills. * Motivated self-starter with confidence to manage suppliers is essential.
