R&D Mechanical Engineer is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Waterford based Client. Our client who specialises in the capture, storage and utilisation of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The successful candiadte will work closely with the Chief Technical Officer and the Engineering team. THE ROLE: * Mechanical design and oversight of the construction of the prototype commercial scale modular carbon capture unit. * Creation of 2D/3D drawings/models of the system in compliance with relevant guidelines and safety standards. * Oversight of the specification, selection, procurement and supervision of installation of the component parts of the system (fans, pumps, heat exchangers, valves and associated pipe networking. * Advising on recommended commissioning and operating parameters as well as engagement with stakeholders including potential Customers and Suppliers. REQUIREMENTS: * At least 5 years' plus experience in machine or plant construction, preferably in a field related to gas processing. * Experience in using 2D/3D design packages. * Motivation and ability to solve challenging design problems under tight time constraints. * Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
