As the Communications Content Specialist you will create content strategies, research trending topics, originate content for different audiences and channels and manage the companies content calendar. The successful candidate will report to the Digital Marketing and Social Media Manager and will work closely with the wider communications team. This is a 9-12 month fixed term maternity contract (with possibility of extension. Responsibilities: Together with the Digital and Social Media Manager, plan and implement an annual content calendar to include scheduling due dates and managing content through the entire editorial process. Systematically identify and exploit opportunities to bring the companies programme outcomes to life for all audiences. Working with the wider communications team to identify content that is in demand. Identify relevant topics, establish salient facts, and interview sources to originate content. Prepare and publish engaging content in different formats for distribution to target audiences through diverse channels including web and social and print / broadcast media. Formats include but are not limited to video, audio (podcast), blogs, case studies and ezines. Identify opportunities to repurpose content to reach wider and new audiences. Communicate in different voices across different audiences and formats while adhering to the companies style guide. When editing, check for errors in grammar, punctuation, and style. Working closely with the leadership and management teams, identify opportunities for and assist in the preparation of blogs and opinion editorials. Sourcing and editing photos / images /video content as necessary to support the narrative presented. Through public procurement, source and manage specialist suppliers in the delivery of activities. Currently this role manages around five such agencies. Gather, analyse, and optimise results, developing insights from the data, identifying where improvements can be made. Recommend innovative approaches to maximise reach, impact, and influence of communications. Requirements: A degree in communications, English, Journalism, marketing, or related relevant qualification. Minimum three years' experience in a similar role(s) of content strategy, origination, distribution and repurposing across a broad mix of channels and content formats. Excellent knowledge of online and offline distribution channels (e.g. social media, SEO, native content, content partnerships and PR) and the purposes they serve.
