A Senior Buyer is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Shannon based Medical device client .You will be involved in Strategic Capital Spending, Contract Negotiation, Risk Mitigation & Dual Souring. REQUIREMENTS: * Manages Material Supply to ensure manufacturing commitments are achieved as well as company objectives. * Provides timely and appropriate material availability information to internal customers. * Leads Business Reviews with Suppliers including assessment of Suppliers Service level and performance. * Negotiates prices and plans savings to maximize profitability. * Leads negotiating and enforcing Suppliers Supply Contracts terms. * Executes Change Control related action, in line with their Quality System. * Engage with order scheduling and production planning to endure adherence to customer service level. * Early engagement with R&D and Project Managers in NPI to ensure utilization of Supply Chain best practices to ensure best fit supplier selection in terms of capacity, risk, quality, and pricing. * Drives long term capacity and supply plans for defined items. * Complete special projects and assignments as requested. THE ROLE. *Minimum of a level 8 degree in a relevant discipline (Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management. * APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) strongly desirable. * Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements. * Extensive experience using MRP / ERP systems, especially Advance Planning System. * 5 years relevant experience is desirable, preferably in a regulated environment (Medical Devices, Pharma, Automotive.
