Limerick is a key driver within the Midwest region having developed a strong brand identity , increased economic and employment growth and a strong tourism offering.   Limerick City and County Council is the Authority responsible for Local Government in Limerick city and county.  The corporate headquarters are located at Merchant’s Quay in Limerick city.  Limerick City and County Council has 40 elected members and approximately 1500 staff.    Limerick City and County Council performs a leading role in shaping the strategic vision of the city and county. It provides a diverse, comprehensive and evolving range of services to citizens, businesses and visitors to the county which include the provision of housing, planning, development, environmental, transportation, enterprise, leisure and community services.   Limerick City and County Council was established on the 1st of June 2014, per the Local Government Reform Act, where after the 2014 Local Elections Limerick City Council and Limerick County Council amalgamated.    A vacancy currently exists in Limerick City and County Council for the role of Senior Executive Quantity Surveyor.    The Senior Executive Quantity Surveyor will manage all aspects of the delivery of a professional, high quality and timely quantity surveying service internally and externally from consultant quantity surveying firms.   The successful candidate will:   • Hold a professional qualification in quantity surveying that is prescribed under the Building Control Act 2007, or a qualification in quantity surveying that is equivalent to a qualification so prescribed in Section 29 of the Building Control Act 2007 and;   • Be eligible for registration as a quantity surveyor under the Building Control Act 2007 without requiring further assessment. Any appointment will be subject to registration under the Act;   • Have at least seven years’ satisfactory relevant experience in quantity surveying.   A full list of the essential requirements for this position is listed in the Candidate Information Booklet.  .
