Sanderson are currently working with a leading Irish Insurance provider to recruit a Governence Executive. The successful candidate will contribute to the achievement of Governance objectives in the underwriting department with particular focus on contract documentation, operational controls and reporting and team development. The role is being offered on a full-time permanent contract and is currently fully remote. They plan on bringing employees back on a hybrid approach of 2/3 days in the office in the coming months. Key Responsibilities. Contribute to the growth and the effective operation of Underwriting Governance by: Assessing underwriting activity to identify premium, product and operational risks and controls. Assist managers/teams in developing effective controls and test the effectiveness of existing controls. Work with Underwriting Managers to agree and design effective Quality assurance reviews. Ensuring a clear audit trail of the work performed from agreeing review parameters to management sign off and completion of recommendations/action items agreed to improve performance. Complete own control testing/quality assurance review schedule to timelines ensuring quality and attention to audit trail are maintained. Develop the parameters for suitable control reports to assess ongoing activity and identify potential weaknesses. Assess, request and sort data. Responsible for the effective operation of the departments Quality assurance actions log. Assist in the review, strengthening and adapting of operational controls to meet changing internal and external requirements. Support the Error and risk processes within the Underwriting departments by: * Review and assess potential reportable errors. Gather information and investigate, remediate and resolve any error. * Support Underwriting Governance lead in the investigation stage and test/review results of the investigation to ensure the full scope of the issue is identified. * Support Underwriting Governance lead to carry out an impact analysis review of the error to ensure that all products impacted are identified. * Support Underwriting Governance lead to manage the error assessment stage, remediation stage and solution stage of the error. * Coordinate and chair error group meetings to discuss current/new errors. Prepare the agenda/minutes for these meetings. Key Skills and Competencies. Ambitious and energetic with Financial Services experience. Possess an understanding of the risk and control environment within which companies within the financial services industry work. Quality and results focused. Ability to work within the department and team to agree and design effective controls and quality assurance reviews. Experience in testing the effectiveness and efficiency of controls and have the ability to carry out peer reviews on control activity and quality assurance reviews on underwriting activity. Possess the ability to build working relationships stakeholders. An excellent communicator. Proficient in MS Office Suite.
