This role helps our company scale and get the best value from our technologies. You will design and deliver a world-class data product to support our rapidly growing global business. You will develop your business and technical skills in this fast-paced environment, experiencing great culture in a rapidly scaling company while using world class technologies. You will help define technical data direction and strategy, while guiding engineering teams to build innovative, scalable, and robust solutions on a range of customer facing platforms. About the team. The team is based in Dublin with teammates in the US and Belarus. The team in Dublin is building a world data strategy for the consumption of our internal business stakeholders and external customers. Our core Workhuman Cloud platform and back-office systems generate large volumes of data that are consumed by teams and services across the Workhuman to facilitate and drive data-based decision making. The recent growth in demand for this information has paved the way for new business use cases, and a requirement to expand how we access data. This team will design and deliver data strategy, which will allow customers to request and consume the data that they need and in the manner that they want. You will. Promote technical excellence of delivery of new capabilities to our data platform, which meet market needs, and support our rapidly growing business. Be central in laying the data architecture foundations to the path ahead, working with Product Directors and Product Owners to understand business requirements and mapping them out to technical solutions. Develop architectural strategies for data modelling, design and implementation to meet stated requirements for metadata management, operational data stores and Extract Transform Load environments. Develop design patterns & architecture blueprints for data ingestion, processing and transforming data. Create high-quality data solutions and act as a subject matter resource for Data Platform architecture, leveraging knowledge and experience to shape services to solve customer problems. Evolve existing data model to improve scalability, maintainability, and data integrity. Monitor data technology evolution and make technology roadmap recommendations. Collaborate with delivery team to ensure designs are fully understood and implemented appropriately. Work closely with architects, engineers, and product owners to ensure that the product being built is of the highest quality and meets the needs of the customer. You will work closely with architects/principal engineers and influence/guide them to efficiently leverage the data from our data lake. You will collaborate closely and communicate well with our cloud infrastructure team on shared items of work. About you. You have a BS in Computer Science / Software Engineering or related field. At least 7 years of experience in software development, data engineering, business intelligence, data science, or related field. At least 2 years of experience in a Data Architecture position. You have a working knowledge of cloud native architecture. You have experience with business process mapping/documentation, developing use cases, documenting data architecture, and creating concept and context diagrams. You have experience in designing data solutions with cloud native services (AWS) to solve big data challenges. You have proficiency in data modelling and familiarity with data warehouse concepts such has star schema, data de-normalising patterns-terns, etc. You have experience in working with varied forms of data infrastructure inclusive of relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres, and column-oriented databases such as Redshift. You have knowledge of Hadoop/AWS EMR, Apache Spark, Spark streaming, Kafka, Scala, and similar technology stacks. Any experience in predictive modeling, NLP and text analysis, Machine Learning is not required but would be an advantage. Ability to work in an agile development environment.
