Director of Engineering Job Description: The Opportunity:  Are you a software engineering leader with a passion for building great analytics products? Do you have a proven track record for driving business outcomes from data-centric applications? We’re looking for a new Director of Software Engineering to oversee our Data Analytics products and help our customer build more human workplaces. The Director Software Engineering, Analytics is instrumental in driving the Workhuman’s overall technology strategy to support the company’s strategic objectives. You will engage, manage and execute product development initiatives and strategic objectives, which enable customers to unlock insights and understand ROI from the Workhuman platform. You will guide, advise, and support several Engineering teams to deliver on strategic priorities. Comfortable working with technical ambiguity and change, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine the best path of execution. You will be instrumental in leading the team through change, scaling, and bringing together the various SMEs to work as one team. Being a senior leader of this Engineering team, you will also be responsible for developing our managers to be our future leaders and ensuring that there is an effective succession plan in place to support company/career growth. The Value you will deliver: Delivery. You will Lead product delivery for several analytics product lines • Product Strategy. Collaborate with Product Directors to help shape product strategy, developing a clear understanding of the needs of internal stakeholders and customers. Enablement. You will ensure delivery teams are enabled, empowered and accountable for delivering to intended outcomes. Innovation.  You will ensure the team is continually improving, using data to effectively drive and measure change, and evolve in line with business needs. Apply a strategic lens to determine where the greatest return is. Partnership. You will create and foster trusted partnerships with Product, Technology and Executive Leadership. High Performance. You will champion and cultivate high performance environment by coaching and mentoring individuals, identifying opportunities for growth and empowering people to succeed. Lead performance assessment and improvement initiatives. Recruit, Develop & Retain. You will lead and grow the Engineering teams ensuring we continue to hire and retain top talent in the market, providing career growth opportunities, developing our next-gen leadership and effective succession planning. Planning. You will be a key contributor to budget planning and control, and compensation review Knowledge/Experience (Technical or professional information needed to perform role. The skills you will bring: Minimum 10 years in a senior software engineering management position. Cloud Analytics. Strong understanding of cloud analytics and business intelligence architectures. Preference for AWS (S3, Glue, Data Pipeline, Kinesis, Redshift, Quicksight. Product Delivery. Proven experience in leading teams delivering cloud analytics solutions, managing complex technical and business challenges with a solution-oriented approach. Leadership. You’ve led teams of managers, technical leaders and helped teams achieve high performance and commercial success. Technically Astute. Strong background in Product Development in the enterprise Software-as-a-Service and cloud technologies. Deep knowledge of Product Development, with the ability to drill deep into problem areas as required. Proven experience in transforming new and existing teams into high performance delivery units. Experience evolving team structure and operations in fast-growth technology organization. Experienced leading design and software development teams in an agile development environment.
