HR Project Lead  Reporting to: Commercial Director, Commercial Revenue Unit (CRU. Trinity Brand Commercial Services Limited (TBCSL. TBCSL is a separate subsidiary established by Trinity College Dublin. TBCSL maximises international sales from Trinity College branded merchandise.  The objective of the organisation is to enhance the capability, commercial acumen, agility and focus to capture and optimise the opportunity associated with the Trinity College Dublin brand on the international stage. TBCSL supports TCD Commercial Revenue Unit (CRU) business portfolio with the delivery of commercial strategies across its Business Units.  CRU comprises several business units (BUs). These BUs span the Accommodation, Catering, Commercial Property, Visitor Attractions (Book or Kells/Long Room), Retail (domestic and international), Branding, Events/Conferencing and Sponsorship.  Post Summary. TBCSL seeks to appoint a strategic HR Project Lead who will join the management team of the Commercial Revenue Unit. The Commercial Revenue Unit (CRU) was formed in 2014 with the goal of maximising the commercial performance of Trinity’s rental property portfolio, branding and partnership programmes, accommodation units, catering outlets, corporate events, visitor attractions, local and international retail channels.  CRU has been driving significant change to its culture, work environment and people structure. This role will work directly with the unit leaders, managers and teams to lead on the HR strategy and to ensure that effective organisation design and capability is in place to enable business units to deliver on ambitious growth and revenue targets. The role will work with the business to develop and implement policies, procedures and processes in areas such as recruiting key talent, development and retention strategies, people management, performance management and variable pay metrics for TBCSL. Working closely with the Commercial Director and in tandem with the management team and business stakeholders, the successful candidate will focus on the delivery of our strategic plan through our resources and, in particular, ensure the people agenda is embedded across the business and supported by core values, competencies, high performance capability and training and development. You will work with all stakeholders to enhance the communication strategy and deliver a positive and engaged mind-set across the business.  The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in building high performance teams, hold a recognised HR qualification and will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience particularly in the area of organisational restructuring and change management programmes. The appointee will have a proven ability to make informed decisions and exercise sound judgement, as well as building strong working relationships. The HR Project Lead will report directly to the Commercial Director and will also have a reporting relationship to the HR Director TCD.  The post holder will also work closely with specialist colleagues in Human Resources, TCD. Essential Duties. Work with the Commercial Director and Business Unit managers to support the delivery of the CRU strategy and BU business plans. Work with the Commercial Director and respective people managers to create high performing teams and a positive culture at a local level to meet the strategic aspirations of the CRU.  Drive the HR and talent management agenda. Supporting the business in identifying and the implementation of strategic HR/people management processes, talent development opportunities and retention risks through succession planning, talent reviews and the performance management process. Oversee hiring at all levels to ensure delivery of effective end to end recruitment processes across functions.  Lead on all HR projects across the business units. Advise and guide Managers on the probation and ongoing performance management of employees. Work closely with the HR team and centres of excellence to ensure a joined up, consistent and fit for purpose HR service.  Work as a coach to managers in relation to their own performance and all people management issues. Work with the business unit managers to measure and continually improve team effectiveness, motivation and engagement. Provide expert advice and guidance on the legal & HR implications of management decisions. Maintain excellent relationships with staff, managers and stakeholders to deliver change initiatives in line with the needs of the business. Co-ordinate and deliver on site Management Training (Feedback, Coaching, Communication Skills. Be a resource to individual CRU employees as appropriate: provide advice and support as required, facilitate problem solving, be first point of contact. Assist with CRU recruitment campaigns where required in conjunction with unit Managers – preparing job descriptions, interview material, participating on interview panels.  Co-ordinate, plan and deliver various training interventions. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Skills & Competencies: Business Operations and Project Management experience: Demonstrated capability and proven expertise in all aspects of business operations and project management with a focus on building high performance teams. HR and people experience: A proven capability in all aspects of HR with strength in organisation design, talent acquisition and development, culture, succession planning and strategic thinking. Will have a strong record of accomplishment of investing in and developing top talent.  Business acumen and commerciality: Proven ability to understand overall business aims and work within a commercial, growth-focused business. Will have a strong network and points of view on emerging trends and HR practices that will create value for the business.  Delivery excellence: A track record for implementing at pace and measuring success of operational HR initiatives. Ability to manage change and minimise complexity. Focus on continuous improvement and adept at complex stakeholder management to ensure that the strategy is delivered in each function effectively  Communication: Strong communicator with a rational, structured, clear, credible and mature style. Capable of quickly engaging audiences of all levels. Not afraid to influence senior business stakeholders  Logical and data led approach: Will evidence a metrics led approach to analysing the effectiveness of operational and HR initiatives. Will have introduced deep analysis of performance, management, talent acquisition and retention methods and subsequently optimised methods and processes across an organisation. Qualifications: Candidates will hold a primary HR degree (essential); CIPD affiliation (desirable. Knowledge & Experience (Essential): Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years’ experience particularly in the area of organisational restructuring and change management programmes. Successful track record of working with Senior Leadership building high performance teams with a focus on all aspects of HR Management.   Proven track record of direct interaction with, and accountability to, key stakeholders (e.g. senior & line managers); Excellent inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including senior managers, as demonstrated from prior experience; Proven ability to work on own initiative, handle multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines; Demonstrate a sound understanding of the role HR plays in Strategic and Human Resource planning processes; Ability to identify and deliver HR best practice in a University and public service context; Ability to contribute effectively as a member of a management team; An excellent knowledge of current employment legislation.
