A Health and Safety Officer is needed by CareerWise Recruitment for a part time (20 hours per week) role at our West Cork food production client. The successful candidate will act as an advisor working closely with cross functional managers to remove risks and drive a safe working culture in their areas of responsibility by promoting high standards and compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures. THE ROLE: This role will suit a risk focused individual who takes a hands-on approach through training, audits, and working with the business to ensure corrective actions are implemented and good catches are used as an opportunity for continuous improvement. * Main point of contact for Health and Safety. * Update the Managing Director regularly on all matters relating to Health & Safety risks, safe working practices & safety behaviour. * Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and remove possible risks. * Proactively conduct risk assessments; maintain and update the risk assessment register. REQUIREMENTS: * Relevant Health and Safety qualification. * Thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation. * Train the trainer and first aid certification. * Minimum four years' experience in a H&S risk advisory role in a manufacturing / food environment. * Certified and experienced in delivering health and safety training including manual handling and first aid. * Strong knowledge of MS Office and IT skills.
