JOB TITLE: Communications Manager DIRECTORATE: Corporate Services  GRADE: £42,685 - £45,218 per annum (Manager A Scale) REPORTS TO: Corporate Services Director SUMMARY OF JOB: InterTradeIreland is seeking an experienced Communications Manager to lead and develop the organisations’ communications strategy, working closely with InterTradeIreland’s senior management, operational and policy teams.  The Communications Manager will provide strategic professional and proactive marketing, public relations, digital output, public affairs and media management services as well as co-ordinating a range of external relationships. Including the management of a dynamic communications team and several external agencies.  KEY DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and deliver strategic communications strategy, including corporate messaging, brand development, digital, social, media relations, public affairs and stakeholder management, overseeing delivery and evaluation. • Develop and proactively manage overarching digital marketing strategy and all digital channels. • Develop, manage, implement and evaluate marketing campaigns to raise awareness of the InterTradeIreland brand. • Provide advice and support around key InterTradeIreland events including the procurement and management of external agencies that help deliver event management, advertising, design and web development services.   • Promote and protect the brand by guiding InterTradeIreland SLT and Board on a wide range of media/public affair matters. • Management of all press enquiries and the delivery of proactive media opportunities, as well as tactical input on corporate presentation opportunities. • In collaboration with the Board and SLT, devise and deliver a proactive public affairs strategy designed to foster effective relationships with public representatives and officials.  • Develop professional working relationships with political advisors and press officers in NI/Ireland and facilitate the communication of InterTradeIreland’s contribution to key stakeholders.  • Ensure InterTradeIreland meets all relevant legislative requirements, e.g. Freedom of Information, Risk or Emergency Management, Official Languages Act.  • Effectively managing expenditure (e.g. budgets, tenders and service provider contracts) including the review and evaluation of key service providers such as PR, Advertising, Media etc. • Manage information systems and reports (e.g. in-house CRM, document management and Performance Reporting) and facilitate the preparation of the Annual Report. • Any other duties as required by line manager. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: • A third level, or equivalent, professional qualification in a PR / Communications or Marketing related discipline. • 3 years’ management experience within a Communications, PR or Marketing role. • Experience developing/implementing an integrated communications and/or marketing strategy in a public sector, government or business environment. • Experience managing a substantive project or task that required you to manage time, people and financial resources within a Communications, PR or marketing environment. • Experience with pro-active engagement with the media to achieve corporate goals. • Experience of devising and implementing a public affairs strategy relating to elected representatives and stakeholders. • Experience of crisis management and brand reputation issues. • Experience of managing complex corporate or governmental websites. • Excellent communications skills and an ability to build strategic relationships internally and externally.
