A long-term strategic vision for the future of the Courts Service has been developed. This vision maps out our future as a modern, digital Courts Service with services re-designed to meet the needs of court users optimally. A key outcome is the delivery of a modern, rationalised estate that is focused on a number of specialist centres in Dublin and a smaller number of larger venues nationally with facilities that provide for the needs of Court users and future ways of working. The modernisation plan sets the context in which the Estate Management Unit and the Facilities Manager role will operate. This is a full time position which involves overseeing the maintenance, management and development of the buildings in the Dublin estate to ensure that they are fit for purpose and support and contribute effectively to the business and strategic objectives of the Courts Service. The Facilities Manager will operate at a senior level and report to the Head of the Estate Management Unit. The buildings within the Dublin area that come under the remit of the Estate Management Unit are: the Four Courts complex, Chancery Street, Green Street, Phoenix House, the Childrens Court building, Dolphin House, Merchants House, Swords, Dun Laoghaire, Tallaght, Cloverhill, Balbriggan and Blanchardstown. Some of these buildings are owned by the Courts Service and some are leased. Many of these buildings are significant from an architectural heritage and conversation perspective. Purpose of the Role: The Dublin Facilities Manager will take the lead on the management of the Dublin estate, working closely with the Head of the Estate Management Unit in ensuring that the various buildings occupied by the Courts Service in the Dublin area are operational and available for court business. Personal & Qualifications Requirements: • Educated to degree level with suitable qualifications in Facilities Management, Property Management, Building services engineering or Construction Management or similar relevant discipline. • Membership of IWFM, RICS or other professional body. • NEBOSH, IOSH or similar qualifications desirable. • Full clean drivers license with ability to travel between sites. • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in FM, property or construction management including a minimum 5 years specifically in a facilities management. • Proven experience in the management of multiple service providers with hard and soft services disciplines. • Experience of managing staff. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing, organisational and project management skills. • Solution orientated with the ability to work under pressure and resolve critical issues that may arise. • Competent with commonly used office computer applications. • Experience of budgeting, tendering, financial and contract management. • Customer focused.
