The duties shall be such clerical/administrative as may be assigned to the employee from time to time by the Local Authority and shall include the duty of deputizing for other employees of the Local Authority, when required, and such duties as may be assigned to him/her in relation to the area of any other Local Authority. JOB TITLE: Clerical Officer. JOB GRADE: 3. REPORTING TO: Assistant Staff Officer or more Senior Grades. REPORTING TO JOB HOLDER: None. This is a recruitment Grade.   OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide clerical/administrative support for a department or section. MAIN ACTIVITIES/TASKS: 1. Preparation of salaries and wages. 2. Processing and payment of accounts. 3. The processing and examination of various claims. 4. Issuing of licences. 5. Preparation of input material for computers. 6. Keeping of personnel records and returns. 7. Providing secretarial services. 8. Dealing with the public by telephone or at the counter. 9. Handling of incoming mail and dealing with routine queries. 10. Preparing documents for meetings. 11. Handling cash. 12. Filing, photocopying and faxing. 13. P.C. Work. 14. Preparation of statistical and other data.  These tasks which are indicative rather than exhaustive are carried out under close supervision. Persons appointed will be required to work in any location within the Fingal administrative area.
