One of the leading banking organisations in the Americas is seeking an Application Support Specialist to join their Dublin-based team. The ideal person for this role is a people-orientated and technically skilled individual with a team focus, strong communication skills, and a demonstrated interest in this sector. Role Overview: You'll become a key member of a team powered by ambition and excellence. This is a role for someone who is interested in playing an integral part in business operations by supporting, managing, and maintaining the capital markets electronic trading platform of both the London and Dublin sales and trading desks. You'll engage directly with the company's business users by providing them with advice, support and training. Role activities: Providing application support to the European trading desk. Monitoring/proactively maintaining the electronic trading platforms (which are primarily made up of ION Trading's MMI and Anvil software components. Troubleshooting technical problems raised by the trading desks and providing clear solutions. Liaising with other front and back office teams. Incident management and incident status reporting to both business and technology management. Preparing maintenance plans/upgrade schedules for front office platforms. Collaborating with other Technology department teams. Qualifications/Skills. Experience working with trading desks. Knowledge of Linux operating system and basic scripting and SQL knowledge. Knowledge of networking technologies, common operating systems, hardware and protocols. Basic knowledge of ION Trading's MMI & Anvil components. Experience with dealing with market exchanges and electronic brokerage platforms e.g. MTS, Eurex and Bloomberg. Ability to communicate effectively and patiently with non-technical users. Awareness of ITIL and IT service management principles. Strong written skills for operational documentation/technical guides. Investigation and diagnostic skills combined with ability to determine appropriate escalations across departmental lines. Business/cultural awareness.
