Description

Purpose of the Position: An exciting opportunitiy has arisen within the Physiotheraphy Department of a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist. Having specialist clinical Knowledge and skills in the area of limb absence rehabilitation, the post holder will promote and demonstrate best practice and will facilate the integration of current research theory into practice through an advanced level of clinical reasoning and decision making. He/She will act as an advanced clinical resource to Physiotherapists and other members of the interdisciplinary team. She/he will participate in research as appropriate. The post holder will also carry a clinical caseload within the POLAR programme. Requirements: The candidate must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office, possess: B.Sc./Masters degree in Physiotheraphy approved by the Physiotheraphists Regristation Board at CORU. Membership of, or eligibility for membership of the Irish Society of Chatered Physiotherpists (ISCP) and CORU registered or pending at the same time of application. (Please include CORU membership number or application number with expression of interest.) A minimum of 5 years Post graduate experience with a minimum of 3 years in the area of POLAR rehabilitation. Evidence of post graduate clinical education in the area of Prosthecisc/Limb Absence rehabilitation e.g. an advanced Strathclyde Prothestics (3 days) course or its equivalent. Experience of teaching or mentoring students, staff, and senior grade therapists.  Experience in clinical research. the appointment is Part-time, Permanent and in a pensionable capacity.
