Retail Area Manager West Ireland We here in Excel Recruitment currently have an amazing job available with a professional symbol retail group that operates a number of high-performing convenience shops in the West of Ireland. This is an exciting role available for an accomplished retailer who is looking to be part of an exciting and growing company. As the Head of Sales and Operations, you will be responsible for the P&L and general operations of sites within your region, this includes having site managers reporting directly to you regarding their shop and individual performances. This a highly regarded business with a great reputation for delivering high standards in customer service, and their fresh food offering within these award-winning sites. Our client is seeking a strong and creditable retailer, who is commercially focused and has experience leading large or multiple teams delivering on short and long-term business goals. Fresh foods is integral to our client's organisation, the successful candidate must have previous experience managing teams within a similar grocery fresh food environment. Our clients is offering a highly competitive package along with a phone, laptop, and company vehicle. Candidates must be flexible to travel long distances and work weekends depending on demand. Responsibilities of this Area Manager Job include but are not limited to: Managing a number of sites across the West of Ireland, motivating and encouraging your management team to deliver on their key performing indicators. Developing a high-performance culture and a winning attitude. Ensure your stores are compliant with general employee legislation guidelines, following correct procedures and guidelines when addressing disciplinaries, hiring and grievances with each shop, ensuring your management team are using the resources the company has to ensure a fair and justice process. Ensuring consistent communication from head office to shop level, carrying multiple projects at one time, and using the resources and your team in a productive manner to achieve success. Delivering on financial commitments such as revenue, margin management, and cost controls for your region. Work with your management team to set achievable and measurable goals. Visit store sites regularly, monitoring shop standards, looking for opportunities to grow store margin and increase sales. Working closely with other regional and internal colleagues on various projects and plans to help the business achieve maximum success. Ensuring that all business conduct requirements are met at all times, reporting back to the Managing Director. Requirements for the job of Area Manager: 8 + year's experience within Senior Retail Management or Regional Management within the Grocery Industry, fresh food experience is essential. Proven ability to manage multi-site environments. Proven people management skills with the ability to develop large teams. Effective communication skills. The ability to motivate and lead large teams. Full, clean driving licence. Flexibility to travel from site to site within the West of Ireland region. Must have a strong business acumen, who is a strategic planner, and has experience making short and long-term business goals.
