Applications are invited for the position of Health Correspondent  with the Irish Examiner. The person appointed will provide health coverage and analysis under the  direction of the News Editor. S/he will have an extensive understanding of  the health sector to report on activities, events, trends, developments and issues  and an established track record in reporting across print and digital platforms. The role requires an ability to report on and analyse complex health issues,  as well as originating exclusive stories and covering running stories in the  health sector. The capacity to work both independently and as part of a team,  and to develop and maintain a network of contacts within the health sector  nationally and locally is essential. Applicants will demonstrate a high degree of personal initiative and a capacity  to contribute to all digital platforms including audio and video. The successful  candidate will be a proficient user of social media and digital tools. S/he will be  able to work in a fast, accurate and efficient manner, under deadline to deliver  incisive news and analysis to our readers online and in print.
