Galway has a strong local economy with complementary business sectors, including manufacturing industry, tourism, retail and distribution, education, healthcare, and services that include financial, cultural, construction and professional.   An opportunity now exists in Galway City Council for the position of Head of Finance.   A key member of the senior management team reporting to the Chief Executive, the Head of Finance will lead and manage the finance function within the Council. The successful candidate will be required to make a valuable contribution to the strategic management of the finance function as well as provide a high level of independence and objectivity.
