DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS: This role will be responsible for detailed design, development and implementation of IT and automation use cases. A key objective of this role is to increase productivity and improve efficiency in CPS plant by leveraging advances in both IT and Automation technologies. The role will also be responsible for: (a) determining the factory software architecture and automation technology platforms required to deliver the CPS Digital Transformation. (b) leading the technical implementation of a broad set of technologies including the development of bespoke and/or heavily customised applications, introducing off-the-shelf IT/Controls applications to enable digitisation of the factory floor and implementation of advanced, highly automated manufacturing improvements (use cases. (c) interfacing with senior management and will require of mix of technical skills, project management and in-depth knowledge of both factory floor and supply chain operations. KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES. Feasibility assessments and estimation of time and cost for approved use cases; Project Management, design/knowledge documentation, working with vendors. Programming in multiple environments (C#, VB.Net, SQL, Python, Vision, Robotics, PLCs, HMIs. Database administration and development of SQL (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS etc. Validation & Documentation. System Handover to site production support. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS. A recognised Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline. PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE. Software Development; ideally to include a strong mix of C# and .Net Technologies, databases, web development, PLC/HMI programming. Proven experience in delivering complex plant controls projects to a high standard. Delivery of automation projects in a complex systems environment, SKILLS. Programming in multiple environments (C#, VB.Net, SQL, Python, Vision, Robotics, PLCs, HMIs. Database administration and development of SQL (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS. CULTURAL DIVERSITY.
