Laboratory Supervisor: Cell Culture- Mayo. Core Purpose: A Biopharma client is now are seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to supervise cell culture operations in their Biologics site. Due to increased demands within the cell culture line of the business the client is now setting up a new cell based assay (CBA) laboratory to cater for our client’s growing needs and to support them as they transition from in-vivo to in-vitro modes of testing. These assays will include potency assays. Core Responsibilities: The Laboratory Supervisor, who along with a Senior and Junior laboratory analyst will be responsible for: Setting up the new laboratory to GMP standards. Development and validation of new CBA’s for clients. Execution of routine validated CBA’s. Day to day running of the laboratory. Development of culture of cells and in performing the end-point analysis e.g. ELISA based methods, etc. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of MSc in a relevant science discipline, PhD desired. 5+ years’ experience of working in a fast paced GMP Lab. Experience in cell culture essential, ideally in preparation of cell banks. Experience in analytical techniques essential, ELISA and other fluorescent based immunoassays. Experience of method development and method validation highly desirable. Experience working in fast paced GMP environment highly desirable. Must be able to work as part of a broader team with QA, Validations, Procurement, etc. Excellent communication skills. Problem solver. Excellent aseptic technique and pipetting skills mandatory. Experience of managing people preferable. Ability to deal with people at all levels including internal and external clients.
