THE COMPANY/OPPORTUNITY: A rapidly growing international multi-service provider (employ 500 people across 6 sites in Ireland and soon to be 8 following a recent competitor acquisition) who provide textile, hygiene and facility services solutions primarily to clients in the manufacturing sector are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician for one of their Dublin plants in Dublin 4 (Southside. This is new maintenance tech role due to the continued growth of the business. My client supports a huge portfolio of massive clients across many sectors and are undergoing huge growth (both organic and through acquisition). This company have been Ireland for many years and have an excellent track record of retaining their staff and in continually investing in the growth and development of their people. The job offers a competitive salary (€40k-€45k doe) plus 10% shift allowance & a tool allowance and there are very good prospects for promotion as many of my clients' technicians have gone on to become supervisors or managers in the business! The shift pattern for this role covers Monday - Saturday, 5 over 6. with a Rotation of two shifts- days 7am - 3.00pm and 3.00pm - 11.00pm. My client's maintenance manager has been in the company for 15 years and has a wealth of knowledge that he shares with his team. He has worked across all of my client's sites, has great relationships with machinery suppliers and is a fantastic knowledge resource for both the company and the people on his team. The Maintenance Manager also encourages training and the company have implemented a structured training plan for the maintenance team and will encourage you to attend external courses where you can develop your skills. So, there is loads of opportunity to upskill and develop in the maintenance tech job! No day is ever the same in the maintenance tech job and there is a huge variety in the role where you will gain a wealth of experience in both the electrical and mechanical spheres. The learning opportunities that you'll gain will be invaluable as well as getting exposure to companies such as Jensen and Kanneigesser (machinery suppliers) that will also provide in depth training and knowledge. THE ROLE: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working as part of well-established team, as Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance of all commercial equipment ensuring the smooth and efficient mechanical/ electrical running of the production plant and providing a comprehensive maintenance service to support the plant. DUTIES: * Provide reactive & preventive maintenance to all plant equipment while also identifying the root causes of problems & suggesting process improvements for long term solutions. * Ensuring that all breakdowns are resolved asap while working closely with production management to ensure all maintenance work is prioritised correctly. * Identifying, sourcing and the replenishment of spares, coordinating and supervising on-site contractors. * Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed & maintaining maintenance paperwork/documentation. Here's a few things that my client sees as critical for someone to be successful in the role: You will have 2 years' experience in commercial/production/manufacturing environment and a flexible attitude as you will sometimes need to work outside of your normal duties. The maintenance tech role will also require candidates to be adaptable around working both days and shifts. Ideally you will also have strong PLC skills (including fault finding and program adjustments) experience in maintaining HVAC equipment and troubleshooting electrical reactive works. A background/exposure in Instrumentation/pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical refrigeration/Steam Boilers/Fire/Intruder/Sprinkler systems, Air compressors and Vacuum systems would also be highly beneficial in the maintenance technician role.
