DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION SERVICES DIRECTOR. 1. Job Specification--General Description: The Development and Innovation Services Director reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is a key member of the senior leadership team. The position is based in Dun Laoghaire but there is a requirement to travel, both within Ireland and internationally, if requested to do so. Travel and subsistence will be paid while away on official business. BIM's mission is to support and enable an increase in value creation of a sustainable Irish seafood sector across the supply chain, from catch to consumer. Development & Innovation Services (DIS) supports profitable industry growth through practical business development services and market led innovation through BIM’s Seafood Innovation Hub. Through leading the DIS unit, the incumbent will be enabling Irish Seafood to become an innovative, growing and green seafood sector generating prosperity and employment in Ireland. Development and Innovation consists of a diverse team of business, innovation technical staff who are committed to supporting the growth of the Irish seafood sector in the home and export markets. The Development and Innovation Services Director will have responsibility for significant areas of policy; lead large teams of people; manage frontline service delivery and implement cross-functional initiatives. The successful candidate will play a central role in driving organisational change and are ideally placed to make a significant contribution to shaping the future of the seafood industry in Ireland. ⦁ Managing in a constantly changing environment with an increased need for adaptability, flexibility and innovation; ⦁ Managing and optimising the contribution of all resources within the business unit. ⦁ Operating in a complex environment of limited resources and competing demands with ever increasing accountability and visibility; ⦁ Improving standards of service delivery, with an increased focus on outputs and outcomes.
