SUMMARY OF ROLE: We are currently recruiting for an HGV Mechanic for our Client based in Rathcoole, Dublin 22. The current fleet consists of 17 HGVs and the role has full responsibility for repairs, inspections and paperwork. This is a full-time permanent position working in a well equipped modern workshop. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform routine inspections and carry out services of different levels; • Engine and transmission repairs; • Perform inspections and test mechanical units; • Diagnose faults and malfunctions; • Ability to use power and hand tools related to motor vehicle service and repair. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: • Qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic (HGV Mechanic) or Minimum 3 years’ additional experience repairing bus & coach fleet or similar; • Must have full clean B licence; • Excellent service, repair and maintenance skills on trucks, buses or plant machinery; • Experience of any of Man, Merc, Volvo, Denis, Renault desireable; • Strong diagnostic skills, good knowledge of electric systems and a team-oriented attitude; • Electrical and engine troubleshooting and diagnostics; • Must be organized & self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills; • Ability to understand and carry out instructions via written, verbal, or diagram form. WORKING HOURS: Tuesday to Saturday 7am-5pm, there is some flexibility on working days. RATE OF PAY: Starting rate €18 per hour, but negotiable depending on experience. Own van provided and workshop facilities may be used for personal projects. JOB CODE: QED0164.
