Role. The Terminologist will collaborate with language specialists, product development teams, writers and localization teams. The terminologist will work with a large-scale terminology system receiving and completing requests and uploading or exporting terms as required. The Terminologist will be representing the client’s language preferences for the whole localization program both within Vistatec and across other language service providers. Our client is a well-regarded and innovative multinational tech company, specializing in Internet-related services and products. These include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing and software. The candidate should be a native English speaker or possess native-level English. Preferably they should have a background in translation and some knowledge of localisation processes. Experience of working with terminology systems is essential. Responsibilities. Establish and maintain the client’s global brand voice across all user-facing products (B2C and B2B. Committed to maintaining consistency across all linguistic assets. Terminology management, including discussions with client about the best procedures to fit clients’ needs. Glossary and termbase creation. Glossary and termbase creation/maintenance based on project requirements and client’s feedback. Supporting terminology queries and terminology tool related issues in collaboration with the Language Quality Services Team. Researching and recording the latest online terminology databases (financial, legal, medical, etc.) Updating different online termbases (financial, legal, medical…) using tools as required by customer. Promoting process improvements for effective handling of terminology. Creating and maintaining high quality terminology references to improve quality of deliverables. Analysing the Client’s content to identify terminology requirements (Source content analysis. Requirements. BA/MA in Translation or a language related subject. Good computer literacy (especially Excel, Word, Power Point. Good eye for linguistic details. A wide interest in different languages (ability to speak/read several languages is an advantage. Knowledge in CAT tools and terminology managements tools. Ability to multitask and to work to tight deadlines. Excellent communications skills in English (spoken and written).
