Appointment of Legal Chairs and Professional Panel Members to the Regulatory Decisions Panel of the Central Bank of Ireland. JOB DESCRIPTION: Central Bank of Ireland serves the public interest by safeguarding monetary and financial stability and by working to ensure that the financial system operates in the best interests of consumers and the wider economy. We are inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to join our Regulatory Decisions Panel in the positions of Legal Chair and Professional Panel Member. Members of this panel may be selected for appointment as impartial decision-makers to cases managed by the Central Bank’s Regulatory Decisions Unit. We operate an assertive risk-based approach to supervision, which is supported by a credible threat of enforcement. Appointed decision-makers will play a key role in delivering our enforcement mandate by making decisions on cases referred by the Central Bank’s Enforcement Directorate. Members of the Regulatory Decisions Panel may be appointed to make fair decisions in the following regulatory regimes operated by the Central Bank: • Administrative Sanctions Procedure inquiries. • Securities market assessments under securities markets legislation. • Certain decisions under the Fitness and Probity regime. These decision-making processes are an essential part of the Central Bank’s enforcement strategy and may be heard in public. The Regulatory Decisions Unit will advise and assist relevant decision-makers. Please note that panel members will not be remunerated unless they are appointed as a decision-maker on a case i.e. there are no retainer fees payable.
