Fantastic opportunity for a temporary Logistics Assistant in Cork. Ensure logistics practices and activities comply with company policies and are compliant with government and competent authority regulations. Create deliveries and coordinate shipments from all order types including intercompany stock transfer and samples when required. Organize specific transport (products return, between customers for non-divisional products, for semi-finish products or raw materials. Proactively liaise with cross functional groups (supply chain/warehouses/quality/planners/freight forwarders. Participate in weekly calls/meetings with planners. Manage any customer inquiries. Facilitate rush orders preparation outside standard pick/pack time with different departments. Provide the freight costs within the organization for air and ocean shipments. Approve carrier/vendor invoices (planned versus actual. Find a quick solution to issues considering service level and appropriate costs. Perform weekly/monthly checks on several open items like orders, shipment cost, goods issue, billing of intercompany shipments etc. Education: 2 years post high school education or equivalent years' experience - Experience in Logistics/Exports - Knowledge of SalesForce.com would be beneficial - 1 or more EU languages a plus - Computer proficiency and SAP experience. Skills & Competencies. Knowledge of lnternational Trade regulations. Good human relations skills, self-sufficient, versatility, flexibility. Capability to work under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work in a diverse team environment. Customer focus Functional/technical skills - Organizing/time management.
