Department Manager - Co. Kerry (Tiles & Stoves. This position would suit a person who is customer focused with relevant retail management experience and preferably with a furniture and home furnishing background and experience in selling tiles and stoves. The role will be varied and tasks will include: Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency. Monthly staff reviews to include active & part shipped sales, notes on orders, sales figures, customer service, best practice and overall performance. Management of the external layout of the shop to ensure appropriate presentation, signage and advertising is displayed. Management of the internal layout of the store to ensure the appropriate products are displayed and labelled correctly. This will also involve assigning responsibility of certain areas of the shop floor to staff and monitoring this to ensure the areas are maintained at the required standard. Dealing with staffing issues and staffing levels relative to store & individual performance as well as providing or organising training and development and ensuring all staff have the necessary product knowledge. Monitoring of branch orders ensuring all dockets are clear, all info is input and complete and transfers are done where required. Liaising with central marketing on special promotions, displays and events and making sure all promotional material is put in place in good time prior to event commencing. Monitoring of data capture at point of sale to ensure all customer information and source of business is input correctly. Ensuring standards for quality & customer service are met in line with mystery shop reviews. Liaise with the complaints department to ensure all customer complaints are dealt with on time and appropriately. Meet with department managers monthly to monitor department performance and discuss any current issues. Liaise with other store managers on stock movements transfers and clearance items. Monitor annual leave of staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels are met at all times. Monitor container schedule and ensure all staff are doing so also. Highlighting any health and safety issues.
