Field Service Engineer






JOB TITLE: Field Service Engineer. REF NO: J5635. LOCATION: Dublin. CONTRACT STATUS: Permanent. RPS is a connected global professional services firm of 5,600 people. RPS is seeking applications for the position of Field Service Engineer to provide on-site technology support to our staff based across several offices in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland working closely with the global service desk so that issues that cannot be resolved by the service desk are resolved quickly and efficiently. The role will be part of a global service desk team who support users across RPS in Europe, Australia and North America. This role will allow you to utilise your technical skills and further develop your professional expertise in a dynamic and challenging environment. Key Responsibilities. •Attending RPS sites as required in The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to resolve issues that cannot be fixed by the global service desk. •Prioritise the workload and communicate well with colleagues on agreed deadlines. •Contribute to problem management and knowledge transfer. •Creates a very good understanding of how our business works to enhance your ability to provide relevant support. •Working closely with the global service desk to feedback on support calls and ongoing issues and managing their resolution within the Service Level Agreement. •Liaising and updating users with the progress and resolution of their issues. •Updating the Service desk ticketing system with timely and accurate information on each support call. •Providing expertise and feedback to continually improve the service and ‘shift left’ •Interacting with the global technology team which is headquartered in Abingdon, UK., •Updating systems. •Some project-based work relating to new technologies or office requirements. •identifying repetitive work and report this back to the service with possible solutions for automation. Education and experience. •Leaving certificate including Maths and English. •Full, clean Driving Licence. •Ideally a qualification in computing or related subject. •Shows a passion for understanding how technology affects and supports our business. •Has a desire to create great relationships with customers and has great communication skills. •Detail orientated. •Experience of managing or contributing to technology projects including O365 and cloud. •Previous experience in a similar role. •Excellent knowledge of technology products such as Microsoft Windows 10, 8, 7 and Office 365, switches, routers and backup technologies, Enterprise Wifi, Windows Server, Linux. •Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving experience. •Understanding of Modern Provisioning, Intune, Autopilot would be an advantage. •Support experience on IOS and Android mobile devices. •Networking, Active Directory and Linux experience would be advantageous. •ITIL Foundation level.
