Senior Buyer. This is a great new role for a Senior Buyer that ideally has worked in an engineering company with at least 3 years' experience sourcing materials. You will be : - Sourcing materials suppliers & subcontractors, tendering activity, supply chain mgt., data analysis, & managing & coordinating communication & delivery with suppliers & internal customers. Responsible for training & support of 2 Buyers in line with strategy. Liaise with all members of procurement team, delivery team (Ops, Commercial, Planning. Logistics, etc.), sub-contractors & suppliers. Commodity research & spend analysis. Sourcing & on-boarding new subcontractor/suppliers. Conducting tenders ensuring compliance on policies & procedures across the contract. Develop strong rel'ships across a project, collaboratively, influencing stakeholders including leaders & key decision-makers to ensure appropriate involvement of Procurement in all sourcing. Regular data analysis, reporting & presenting internally on immediate & future priorities, risks, issues & potential solutions. Maintain approved project sub-contractor directory, in conjunction with commercial / Finance / SHEQ, to ensure information held is accurate & current. Experience are essential: Relevant business degree & CIPS/IIPMM. 3 years' experience within subcontractor procurement or a commercial environment. Experience of creation of sourcing rel'ships where procurement might have been poor. Results orientated to reach targets. Proven contract negotiation skills. Problem solving skills, ability to use own initiative to identify areas of improvement & propose solutions. Support & drive change in the procurement function. Detail orientated, & can manage multiple tasks at once. Independent , professional, customer focused; flexible & driven with strong written & verbal skills. Knowledge of procurement systems (e.g. Oracle, Bravo or similar. Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite. a full clean driving licence with access to a car.
