The Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) is a public body set up to support and develop a well-functioning rental housing sector. Our remit extends to both the Approved Housing Body sector and the private rental sector. Our role is to regulate the rental sector; provide information to inform policy; maintain a national register of tenancies; resolve disputes between landlords and tenants and provide information to the public.  The RTB’s Dispute Resolution Service replaces the courts in relation to the majority of landlord and tenant legal disputes within the private residential rented sector. In accordance with its statutory obligations, the RTB will be appointing new members (Panel Members) to a panel of adjudicators and to a panel of mediators to perform the roles of adjudicator and mediator, as required for the Dispute Resolution Service.  The successful candidate(s) must meet the essential requirements and will also have strong decision making, analytical and sound judgement skills and have an in-depth knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, 2004 (as amended), with the ability to interpret and apply it consistently with due process.
