A Technical Buyer is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Shannon based client. This is an opportunity to join a fantastic company in a dynamic purchasing role. THE ROLE: * Reviewing requisitions for the assigned commodities. * Securing quotations as required, determining the lowest total cost. * Placing purchase orders with approved suppliers in a timely manner. * Monitors the consignment/Kanban releases for the commodities assigned and works with the vendors. * Evaluation and selection of suppliers. * Monitoring of inventory and working to reduce excess, no demand and obsolete inventory. * Working closely with other departments to develop new products/processes. * Developing annual cost reduction plans. * Experience of monthly corporate reporting requirements. REQUIREMENTS: * 3rd Level Degree in Business/Engineering. * APICS or CPM certificate preferred. * Negotiating experience. * Six Sigma and lean operating principle knowledge. * Microsoft Office Suite working knowledge. * Skilled in the use of large ERP system, MRP knowledge would be beneficial.
