Description

Dublin City Council provides a fire and emergency service (FES) for the population of the four Dublin Local Authorities – the City Council itself, Fingal County Council, South Dublin County Council and Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. It provides an emergency ambulance service, as an agent of the HSE. The FES also responds to incidents involving water rescue, high line rescue, road traffic collisions, flooding and chemical incidents. Opportunities now exist in Dublin City Council for the role of Assistant Chief Fire Officer. The Assistant Chief Fire Officer has responsibility for managing the service delivery and development of Dublin Fire and Emergency Service functions in the areas as delegated by the Chief Fire Officer. These areas include operations (fire and ambulance), fire safety, major emergency management, training, change management, quality assurance and logistics. This is a senior management position in the FES and s/he will be required to contribute to all areas of development of the service. S/he may also be required to represent the FES and to act for the Chief Fire Officer.
