The Head of Nutrition will report directly to the Head of Applied Research (R&D) and is responsible for providing nutritional and scientific leadership to the R&D teams to meet business needs on NPD initiatives. Responsibility for managing the Nutrition team to drive knowledge, motivation and engagement within the team. They will coordinate and manage the timely delivery of scientific and nutritional dossiers to internal and external stakeholders. They will engage in external nutritional and scientific collaborations to drive the nutrition agenda for the benefit of the wider company. Key Responsibilities: • Support the Head of Applied research to inform and steer the nutrition agenda. • Manage a pipeline of pre-clinical and clinical studies and the execution of these through a third party. • Manage and lead the Nutrition team, supporting their career progression, learning, development and training. • Develop and build strong, effective relationships with R&D, Marketing & Sales and Regulatory & Compliance teams. • Provide nutrition expertise and guidance at the product design stage for products that are destined for either domestic or international markets to ensure nutrition superiority, zero mistakes and complete regulatory compliance. • Maintain oversight of Nutrient Monitoring Programme and leverage for NPD purposes. • Within the Nutrition team, coordinate the preparation of scientific dossiers, product communication reports for key internal stakeholders as well as customers. • Liaise with the Market Research & Insights team to identify emerging nutritional market trends and to translate these for Commercial and Marketing. • Collaborate with Marketing on the external nutrition communication agenda to inform key stakeholders. • Keep informed of nutrition research and an understanding of the nutrition regulatory landscape relevant to Glanbia Ireland. • Identify and leverage external partners, including KOL’s to realise companys nutrition agenda. • Represent the company in external research collaborations e.g. Food for Health Ireland. Key Requirements: • 6 + years industry experience in the food industry preferably in infant and clinical nutrition. • Nutrition based qualification – PhD, MSc desirable. • Evidence setting up and executing clinical studies. • Writing scientific dossiers and translate same into recommendations for the business. • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. • Excellent communication skills. • Evidence setting up and executing clinical studies. Demonstrate project management and exhibit aptitude for planning and delivering projects to completion. Desirable Requirements: Experience in Food Regulatory Affairs.
