Software Developer. Limerick. Our client is looking for a Software Engineer based in their brand new, state of the art office in Limerick. The R&D Foundation team is looking for an energetic candidate who wants to grow their career through experience and taking ownership of new challenges. The team is globally dispersed (Ireland and USA) with the majority of team members based in Limerick. What You'll Need: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics or equivalent work experience. A minimum of four years experience in a software development role. Able to take ownership of assigned tasks and meet responsibilities with minimal supervision. A self-starter, with a strong work ethic and a success-based attitude. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills. Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testing. Computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design. Proficient in at least one modern programming language such as Java or C# What You'll Do: Participate in development activities including solution design and review, development, unit testing, and code review. Collaborate with the project team. Participate in team and project meetings. Adhere to Scrum methodology and team standards. Valued Knowledge and Skills. Java experience and/or experience with Object Oriented design/programming. Proficient in scripting languages, Python , and build tools such as ANT or Maven. Familiar with Unix/Linux Operating Systems. Experience with Progress OpenEdge. Experience in a Support or DevOps role. Experience working in a globally dispersed team. Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence and Bamboo. Experience with environment configuration management and deployment tools such as Docker, Chef, Puppet, and virtualization.
