Senior Engineer - New Product Introduction: Dublin. In this role you will be responsible for driving core initiatives, new ways of working and best practices for product introduction across new development projects and into manufacturing operations. This position will improve the methodologies for how instruments and hardware are brought to the market. • Leverage new ways of working and best practices introduced with the project, drive implementation across development projects. • Program manage improvement programs and drive adoption by the project teams. • Identify improvements in the New Product Introduction process, document the process, and drive implementation across projects and plants. • Focus on platform management, influencing the design community to re-use existing or common solutions. Propose and implement supply chain strategy to optimise use of common sub-assemblies across product platforms. • Propose and implement make-buy strategy to facilitate use of common sub-assemblies across manufacturing sites. Key Responsibilities: • Drive New Product Introduction core initiatives and best practices across ongoing projects. • Work closely with R&D to develop strategies to streamline and improve New Product Introduction and Design Transfer. • Key liaison between development and manufacturing sites. • Develop and oversee the design transfer metrics as they relate to platform management across all projects to ensure successful new project introductions. • Implement new ways of working for product introduction into manufacturing operations. • Achieve on time delivery for key milestones with ownership of successful design transfer into manufacturing for key projects. • Mentoring of newer SCM (supply chain management) engineers on project teams. • Collaborate across functions and externally with related suppliers & business partners. Interested applicants should have: • Degree in Engineering. At least 10 years' experience in medical device development or manufacturing. • Experience with lean tools and principles. • Experience in leading cross-functional technical teams located across multiple locations. • Ability to organise and manage the activities of others. • Project management skills. • Capable of operating and liaison at all levels including managerial, project and technical. • Proven management skills, people and influencing skills and organisational development.
