INNOVATION PROJECTS ENGINEER with high technical knowledge of sensors and/or advanced manufacturing technologies required by CareerWise Recruitment for our multinational contact lens manufacturer to be based at a sister site in Cork. The INNOVATION PROJECTS ENGINEER role will involve the management of research/innovation projects, open innovation approaches and a high technical knowledge. THE ROLE: * To manage innovation projects, including stakeholder management. * To participate in roadmapping and innovation strategy sessions. * To have an active technical involvement in the innovation projects. * To work with research laboratories in projects to develop sensing solutions. * Tto liaise with the different teams to understand business opportunities. * To put in place the appropriate legal agreements. * Open to travel to support development. * To manage research budgets. * To support funding applications for different areas of sensing, materials and manufacturing technologies that enable Industrie 4.0. * To provide guidance to other staff and students in own specialist area, including supervising and assessing postgraduate projects. * To take part in knowledge-transfer activities, including collaborative meetings with other research groups. * To maintain knowledge and understanding within the field/specialism, transforming and applying knowledge acquired from scholarship to research. * Identify appropriate resources and technical requirements for the Manufacturing Technologies and Innovation Centre of Excellence Research and Innovation projects. * Work with all relevant project teams to deliver project on time and on budget with the required quality level. * Ensure compliance with each J&J company's procedures, cGMP, recognized quality standards and regulatory expectation. * Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are fulfilled. REQUIRMENTS: * BSc in an engineering discipline or equivalent. * 2 years experience working in industry. * 1 year experience in a regulated industrial environment. * High level of technical English. * PhD or MSc in an engineering related discipline desirable. * Project Management Professional with experience managing Research projects desirable. * Process Excellence - Six Sigma Blackbelt certified an advantage.
