The Data Protection Commission (DPC) is the national independent authority with responsibility for upholding the individual’s right to data protection and ensuring that organisations comply with data protection law. The DPC has a leading international role in supervising the data processing activities in the European Union of many of the world’s leading technology companies who have their European headquarters in Ireland. The Data Protection Commission now has vacancies for Senior Regulatory Lawyers. The post of Senior Regulatory Lawyer is a senior managerial grade (Assistant Principal Officer) within the DPC, reporting directly to a Deputy Commissioner. The Senior Regulatory Lawyers will perform a significant role in the DPC’s investigatory activities, dealing with novel and groundbreaking legal and regulatory issues in a fast-moving and high-profile environment as the DPC cements its role as one of the key data protection regulators in Europe. Successful candidates will be enrolled as a Solicitor or Barrister in the State and will have a track record in conducting expert legal analysis and developing practical strategies in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects. They will have extensive experience of regulatory investigations and/or equivalent enforcement activity, demonstrable legal analytical and legal drafting/writing skills with experience of report writing, and will also. have extensive knowledge of regulatory/administrative law.
