Reporting to the IT Operations Manager the IT Field Support Engineer provides a high-quality IT service delivery to the business users in central offices and temporary sites nationwide, whilst meeting all agreed and published SLA’s. All team members are to provide encouragement and support to the other IT Department team members accordingly. While the main office for this role is in Dublin South, regular nationwide travel will be required. A company vehicle will be provided to enable this, but a full, clean driving licence is essential. Role Responsibilities: Delivering services requested through Incident, Service Request, Change processes & managing service tickets. Visit Site when required to setup IT equipment & ensure that all IT sites setups are consistent & to the required standard. Ensure All Site IT systems & equipment i.e. servers, switches, routers are setup to the required standard, updated where applicable, fully documented & where applicable, asset tagged & tracked in the IT Asset Database. Assist IT Management in ensuring that IT department procedures & policies are followed. Attend regular IT departmental & technical meetings to check on departmental achievements & issues, projects progress etc. Keep all applicable IT Server rooms & workshop areas tidy & free from safety hazards & that any requirements or issues are communicated to IT management. Ensure data backup tapes are changed as per the agreed schedule and kept off site. Seeks to understand business needs and demonstrate creative ways to improve business processes. Ensure areas which could potentially adversely affect the business are expediently highlighted to line management. Attend project, programme departmental and supplier meetings as required. Acts as an escalation within the Operations team. Undertake any other reasonable duties expected of you. Requirements: Minimum of 2 years IT Helpdesk/Support experience or equivalent working in end user support. Previous experience of duties defined in “Responsibilities” Section. Practical experience of Site IT delivery and support. An independent, self-starter with excellent customer engagement & organisational skills. Can learn new skills and knowledge, picks up on technical and business challenges quickly. Working knowledge of ITIL and its practical application. Full clean driving license.
