Metamo are currently recruiting for a Head of Risk Management to join their team on a permanent basis. Location is flexible, but requires time in Killorglin, Co.Kerry. Company Profile. Metamo is a newly established shared services company comprising MetaCU (a collaboration between some of Ireland`s largest Credit Unions) and a commercial partner, Fexco, in a Joint Venture. Credit Unions play a crucial role in financially enabling Irish communities and Metamo has been established to develop product and service solutions to support them. Metamo will focus on 3 key areas: Product and technology development: innovating in partnership with member credit unions. Collective bargaining power: More effective relationships with existing and new business partners. Expertise: providing access to professional expertise and services. job Purpose. Create a risk management framework that ensures Metamo adopts high operational risk management standards and is fully compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. Work with Metamo product and service leaders to ensure that all services delivered to credit unions can be sustainably managed by credit unions within their own governance and regulatory framework. Design and implement a risk management support and advisory service for credit unions to access as customers to enable them to improve their current risk management environment. Main Responsibilities. Develop a risk management framework that ensures Metamo complies with all legislation and regulation, and exhibits high standards in all aspects of operations and risk management. Work closely with each Metamo solution developer to ensure that products and services delivered are compliant at a manufacturer and consumer level (e.g. credit union regulations. Build a strategic plan for Metamo to support credit unions in strengthening their risk management controls and processes, and mitigate risks identified. Key features should include risk appetite assessment, control environment, policies, risk management processes, reporting, training and review. Work with the broader Metamo leadership team to build a commercial business case for development, incorporating the delivery of key products and services. Engage the credit union risk leaders to agree a shared vision of success and path for implementation. Manage stakeholders / key vendors to ensure optimal solutions for credit unions and support for current relationships during transition. Develop policy perspective to aid the enablement of evolution of the credit union regulatory framework in line with the evolving sector business model and environment. Qualifications/Experience Required. Risk Management oversight and strong understanding of regulation. Banking/financial services experience or exposure. Applicable operations and risk management qualifications. Understanding of core processes and product management environment. Comfortable with a corporate start-up scenario and the personal risk associated with an ambitious project. Ability to work as part of a multi-dimensional team with appropriate engagement to meet common company objectives. Competencies Required. Proven Leader of operations and risk management teams. Technically skilled in risk management and able to create a risk management framework. Proficient in regulation and effective application for business delivery. Experience in direct engagement with regulatory authority preferable. Experience of systems for financial products and services, and process compliance with regulation.
