Unijobs is currently working with DCU to recruit an insurance professional for a 6 month project as outlined below; Background. DCU has a group structure with several subsidiary companies, and manages a property and asset base on a multi-location basis to the value (reinstatement/replacement) of €1bn. The relevant person would be recruited for up to 6 months for a project, as outlined below: Manage the update of internal valuations of the full asset base across the Group, engaging with internal stakeholders and the appointed broker for the university sector. Manage any external valuation exercises on properties as required. Review existing insurance policies and cover that is in place in conjunction with the designated broker, make recommendations for improvements, and implement approved decisions. Review the risk register for each entity in the Group and ensure the insurance approach is aligned to identified risks. Review the process for managing insurance in the Group, including information exchanges/communications with staff, engagement with the Health & Safety Office, engagement with the Estates Management Office, the process for managing claims as well as implementing changes following claim learning points,. etc. Process maps will be required to be produced as well as a paper describing the "as is" with recommendations for improvements including automated processes where possible. Review of the Fixed Asset Register structure on the ERP system from the insurance data requirement perspective. Develop a staff training and awareness programme relating to insurance. It would be an advantage to have worked with an in-house organisation team managing risk and insurance compliance for a large corporate. The role will report to the Deputy Director of Finance, and will work closely with key members of the Finance function, including the Director of Finance. Salary: Depending on experience.
