Supply Chain Manager – External Manufacturing Role: The Supply Chain Manager has responsibility for ensuring the availability of commercial products, intermediate products and API from the external manufacturing network and will serve as the primary Supply Chain contact within Birex for the Helsinn external contract manufacturing sites. This role ensures the effective operation of the External Supply Chain to provide timely delivery of commercial API, intermediate and finished good in accordance to company needs. Due to the acquisition of a new product this is an exciting new role within the Supply Chain Department and offers the incumbent an opportunity to play a pivotal role. Responsibilities : Co-ordinate the activities of API availability, Drug Product manufacturing and packaging at external sites to meet supply requirements. Leading the qualification of new external partners. Partner with the Corporate Supply Chain group to ensure the group’s priorities are met and provide support for all new product launches. Along with the Manager, Quality Compliance, ensure all supply chain systems and process used in the supply of goods are in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, CGMP compliance, EHS compliance and company policy. Work closely with the Internal Supply Chain team to schedule products coming from the External Manufacturing network and take proactive actions to avoid any potential supply issues. Build a robust Supply Chain by collaborating with External Partners to maintain good working relations and ensure on time and on budget delivery. Compile a Supply Chain risk assessment (to be reviewed annually) and propose/implement mitigations as necessary. Compilation of monthly reporting of External manufacturing status, ensuring all relevant Company KPI’s are met and contributing to Plant Group Quarterly Reports. Ability to travel up to 40% of core time. Manage, motivate and mentor direct reports. Requirements : 10 years’ experience in demand and supply planning roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, ideally with CMO experience. Previous experience providing supply chain and technical support and interaction with contract manufacturing companies. 5 years’ experience in a leadership (people management) role. Strong understanding of budgeting and strategic planning process. Good technical understanding of solid dose, cream and parenteral manufacturing.
