My client, a leading healthcare provider currently have a new vacancy for a Head of Nursing Services. Key Responsibilities: You will provide leadership to nursing staff fostering a culture which values continuing professional development. Act as a direct reporting line for the all field nurse managers. Work collaboratively with other professional leads in developing a culture which embeds clinical quality and patient safety, and monitors its effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement. Responsible for implementing a programme to enable patient experience and outcome measures to feed into clear progressive improvement strategies. Support the clinical design and safe mobilisation of services ensuring all organisational and applicable regulatory standards are maintained. Promote a consistent best practice approach across the clinical teams using our internal Safer Care values and tools. Undertake clinical audits to scrutinise service delivery and performance. Demonstrate and works to our organisation ICARE values and professional standards. Supervise subordinate personnel including directing or assisting: hiring, determining workload and delegating projects, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective and disciplinary actions. Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness through interdepartmental collaboration, review and support. Assist and develop in-service clinical training programmes for nursing staff underpinning clinical governance requirements. Communicate clearly and regularly with subordinates and management on all key aspects of the business. Support the knowledge and talent development of your colleagues in specialist areas to strengthen expertise within the business. Interpret relevant policy drivers and translate the impact and opportunities both in clinical standards and requirements around quality improvement measures. Respond to the direction/lead of the Clinical Medical Director as required. Experience, Skills & Qualifications: Registered General Nurse. 10+ years post-registration experience with a minimum of 5 years CNM or equivalent experience. Completed a 3rd level Management Course. Demonstrate Project management / Quality Management System experience. In depth understanding of specialist care requirements. Proven track record dealing with clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management within a regulated setting. Experience of delivering clinical leadership and operational excellence.
