Tax Free Head of E-Commerce and Distribution. Location: Jeddah. Salary: €Neg DOE. Job Purpose: The Head of E-Commerce and Distribution is responsible for managing and directing the organisation’s overall E-Commerce and distribution strategy, ensuring distribution systems fully support business objectives. The strategy should reflect dynamism and innovation, enabling our client to offer its customer’s industry leading commercial solutions across all direct and indirect touchpoints. In addition to direct channels such as the corporate website, booking engine and app, the role will additionally focus on developing specific channels to support indirect sales opportunities that both enhance our client's market reach, and drive revenue through relationships with the travel agency community. This will be of particular relevance in the pursuit of high yield traffic. This is achieved through the management of a distribution and E-Commerce team that supports the airline across web and mobile platforms and the co-ordination of strategies with the contact centre, social media, PR and marketing. The success of the role is measured in driving toward 100% e-sales channel share and self-servicing. Central to this is making the e-sales platform user friendly, innovative and relevant to the needs and behaviour of the always connected customer. The role plays a key part in lowering overall cost-of-sales for the airline and generating incremental non-air revenues by managing ancillary sales via all channels. In addition, the role is responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage all aspects of the business including, business planning, content strategy and development, promotional campaigns and other online marketing, website design, customer service, web analytics and web technologies. Accountabilities: Strategy. Develop the overall distribution and E-commerce strategy. Identify, recommend, and execute strategies and initiatives to drive significant increased website traffic, conversion rates, revenue and profitability. Ensure the airline E-commerce strategy is aligned with and indeed cutting edge in respect of general airline industry and E-commerce trends. Our client wants to be an award-winning airline in this area. Implement ancillary revenue strategies in the e-sales environment. Define & execute the airline’s affiliate marketing strategy. Define & execute the airline’s meta-search distribution strategy. Maintain knowledge and awareness of other airline distribution strategies and trends. E-commerce Operations. Ensure the airline website portal and transaction experience is the core revenue generation activity. Increase self-servicing share to reduce cost-of-sales and servicing. Establish the website as the preferred point-of-contact for all customers. Ensure selection of payment gateways is optimal for the always connected customer who wants intuitive choices around booking a flight quickly and browsing for leisure. Provide expertise on current eCommerce industry best practices. Identify new areas of eCommerce opportunity beyond current organizational thinking. Identify and communicate business needs based off analysis for improved website functionality and enhanced customer experience to dramatically grow the business. Determine key performance metrics and incorporate them in the ecommerce user experience design and processes. Analyse and report on statistics showing system usage and customer experience, with a view to recommending improvements to the customer experience and conversion. Work alongside Customer Care team to understand customer feedback from all company touch points, and recommend corrective actions where appropriate. E-commerce Operations. Monitor the performance of distribution systems ensuring performance and availability. Ensure procedures are in place and are strictly adhered to when both planned and unplanned system outages occur. Ensure minimum downtime is experienced. Work alongside IT department to ensure supplier SLA’s are strictly adhered to. Ensure all system settings are up to date and fully support operational and commercial objectives and policies. Work effectively to support project timelines for the implementation of new products and services. Ensure that commercial and operations departments are aware of new and innovative technologies, and recommend how these can be utilized to the company’s competitive advantage. Support project management processes, develop test cases and manage user acceptance testing for new and upgraded software. Work with CCO and CFO to prepare distribution system budget, and ensure departmental costs are within budget. Management & Leadership. Establish team objectives and KPI’s, and monitor team performance. Establish sales processes to ensure best practices are shared throughout the organisation globally. Responsible for online customer experience and related project management. Management of the overall online sales activity plan to ensure the sales plan is executed in set timelines. Plan, manage and implement rollout of distribution system strategy, including all associated product enhancements and upgrades. Plan, manage and implement rollout of online sales promotions globally and on a pan-regional basis. Work with Revenue Management and Network and Sales departments to embed the online sales channel in our fare, sales and distribution processes. Management of sales and co-marketing partnerships globally and pan-regionally with credit card companies, banks and other global sales partners. Manage approach to mobile application development. Manage all aspects of web analytics related to eCommerce and communicate relevant information to team members, executive leadership and cross-functional partners. Development. Develop team with specific focus on knowledge transfer and training Saudis within the organization. Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Essential. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. In depth understanding of the airline industry and specifically sales, marketing and distribution. Solid knowledge of core airline systems, with a preference for Navitaire experience. Knowledgeable about online sales and marketing technologies and latest industry trends across online retail and online travel in particular. Preferred. Ideally has worked in a LCC distribution or e-commerce environment. Has delivered revenue growth in the e-sales environment. Experience of working with indirect sales vendors such as major GDS suppliers. Experience of working with payment service providers and card acquiring services. Experience of working with third party fraud monitoring services. Fluent in information technology and cutting edge commercial applications that lead the way not just in aviation but other market sectors. Project management experience. IT or Engineering background, with the ability to understand core web-based technologies is a bonus.
