As a Fire & Security Engineer you must possess the necessary skill, qualifications and knowledge to undertake the tasks of this job role. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Daily routines include checking and ensuring that your have available your daily work schedule in advance and all supporting material and stock to undertake the scheduled work. You are required to be on site (First call) at 8.30am Monday to Friday of each week and complete all job works satisfactorily that have been assigned to you. You are also requested to be available for the on call roster in support of this roll. At least three weeks’ notice will be given on the roster schedule. The construction, modification, maintenance and repair of a variety of electronic Fire & Security devices, Access Control and Door Entry Systems, Emergency Lighting, Fire Extinguishers and Allied Products, CCTV Systems and intercommunication systems used for Life Safety and property protection purposes to the required standards and regulations in each category. (E.g. EN 50131 or IS31218 or IS3217. Identify, define and propose system security requirements as and when required by management. Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices on customer and client sites. Advise clients of faults or recommendations found for maintenance of correct standards. Advise the Sales Department of recommendations. Conduct site surveys and provide the required technical information to assist management in the quotation of all works; giving due consideration to all applicable security and fire risk factors. Carry out any other associated specific tasks allied to the business of the company as deemed appropriate by the directors of the company. Participate in the design and modification of specialized electronic equipment for research purposes; provide technical advice on selection of components and agree to undertake any training on new equipment (e.g. Panels, CCTV IP etc.) or education to enhance your knowledge in the execution of your role as deemed necessary by the company. Prepare structured and comprehensive reports including assessment based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancements.
