The role of the Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist is central to the effective assessment and treatment of all patients and will provide coverage across units and programs in the fulfilment of the following duties: 1. Consultation to psychiatric and medical providers about modalities of psychological treatment on a case-by-case basis. 2. Teaching/Academic and Research Interests. This position offers the opportunity to provide psychological services both within the context of psychiatry of later life, general adult psychiatry, and mental health rehabilitation. Qualifications: A recognised third level degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with first or second class honours in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honours were obtained in that subject, and which is accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland. A recognised postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health. Essential Experience: At least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology.
