Policy Analyst / Economist
The Irish Government Economic and Evaluation Service (IGEES) is an integrated cross-Government service charged with enhancing the role of economics, evaluation and value for money analysis in public policy making. Reporting to the Head of Unit in the employing Government Department, the Policy Analyst/Economist will operate at Assistant Principal level and will be capable of drawing on experience and expertise in analysis to inform evidence based policy and decision making. S/he will hold a qualification of at least Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications in a discipline with a strong data analysis component such as Economics, Social Science, Policy Analysis or Statistics, or hold a post graduate qualification at Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications in a similar discipline. The successful candidate will have at least two years’ relevant experience of working as a policy analyst and/or economist, coupled with strong quantitative and analytical skills, and people and/or project management skills.
