We are the helpful energy company. We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist. Working primarily from our fantastic canal side office in the heart of Dublin, you'll also enjoy some variety with regular visits to customer sites and to our Cork office. Because keeping our people and our customers safe is so important, our EHS Specialist helps to prevent safety issues through education and communication while keeping us on track through regular reporting, metrics analysis and audits. Our values; care, delivery, collaboration, agility and courage are tested and rewarded in this role which involves supporting safety training, site inspections, auditing, accident and incident investigation, development and implementation of policies and procedures and conducting risk assessments. Partnering with colleagues in the wider business and contractor management will also feature in the role. Act as the subject matter expert of our EHS event reporting system. Development and collating of metrics, EHS reports and to report across and up through organisation. This will require strong IT and reporting skills and involve liaison and communication with key internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of health & safety compliance in their business areas, beyond minimum legal compliance. Support and develop the BGE safety improvements and communication strategy. Field work as required including site inspections, audits and provide EHS support for Homecare boiler service quality team including EHS inspections and audits and attendance at tool box talks. Complete EHS competency and tender evaluation for contractors and suppliers. Ensure EHS inductions and training is carried out for staff and contractors in Dublin office. Work closely with facilities to ensure effective close out of any inspection findings. Assist with the review of the EHS Management System for Bord Gáis Energy. Support the internal and external audit programme and audit action close out and applied learning. Support our incident management, business continuity plan and the emergency response procedures for our business. Identify and support the delivery of improvements where required. Support and own identified areas of our EHS training programme. Support BGE's EHS contractor management plan taking responsibility for key contractor management. To continually inspect and audit sites and contractors for H&S compliance by adhering to a designed inspection/audit calendar. About You. Self-starter with EHS experience (2 years' experience please) and a full clean driving licence. Relevant qualification (Degree or equivalent. Additional Skills which would be a distinct advantage: Trained VDU Assessor, auditor, Manual Handling instructor, some construction H&S experience. Confident IT skills including data analytics. Strong metric reporting and safety case report writing. Prior training experience. Strong understanding of EHS management systems and auditing. Proven interpersonal, communication and team skills to deliver alongside your EHS colleagues, wider business colleagues, contractors and customers. Flexible to travel within Ireland.
