General Legal Counsel required on a long term contract for a major company based in Co. Galway. Responsibilities: Provides timely, accurate, creative and implementable legal advice to the business to protect and defend company's interests in both public and private forums. Assist management in conducting business in an efficient and profitable manner in compliance with the law and company policies. Contract review and negotiation. Regulatory compliance. Human Resource issues. Litigation management. Review of commercial practices  Corporate governance. Subsidiary corporate maintenance. Support of global and regional marketing, Marketing claims and Trademark. Regulatory issues, including: device manufacturing regulations, Customs/Trade Ensure management is kept up to date on: all new legislation, corporate legal matters and progress of court cases. Requirements: Possess a Law degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience. At least 3 years of experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts. Experience in distribution & customer agreements preferred. Must have a general understanding of intellectual property issues, including IP licenses. General understanding of marketing & promotion laws is preferred. Successful track record of exercising independent judgment including the ability to make decisions that balance business & legal priorities.
